Route 2 of 3How about a ride out to support the riders in the 2023 Tour of Britain as Stage 4 arrives in Nottinghamshire? We have 3 suggested routes:
Route 1 is a ride out the the Cat 3 climb near Eakring.
Route 2 heads to the start at Sherwood Forest before heading to the climb.
Route 3 takes in the start and the climb and then braces the peloton to the finish in Newark.
Grab your cow bell and wear your Ilson colours – let’s see how many jerseys we can get on the telly!
https://www.strava.com/routes/3121419157560257754a 58 mile loop that takes in Kilometre Zero at Sherwood Forest, a stop for lunch then a short ride over to catch the riders as they hit the Cat 3 climb at Red Hill Lane before heading home.
The race is scheduled to start at 11:15, so this ride is set to leave Ilkeston Market place at
09:00.
with an average of 12 mph you would arrive at 11:00.
At 15 mph arrive time is 10:36.
At 17mph – 10:24
The peloton is expected to hit the climb at 13:21 so that gives us a couple of hours to grab some lunch and make the 7 mile hop over to the climb. Then there’s a 28 mile ride home with plenty of cafe options along the way.
NB: This is not a Ride Captain-led ride – it’s just an opportunity for a group to form and ride to the Race route together.
Plenty of cafe options on the way back around Edingley and Farnsfield
